May 14, 2006 NewsletterWe lucked out this weekend. A brief sprinkle late in the morning on Sunday and a little rain during teardown, but that was it. We had 38 shooters and 12 reshoots for a total of 50 guns. Check out the results (now correct), we had two upsets in Revolver and Single Stack. Thanks very much to all who helped to set up and tear down. We had 2 new shooters this month, Steve Radel and Sean Pitrelli. We were honored to have Josh Blazek join us on Saturday. Josh is home on leave from Iraq, where he will be returning later this month. Thank you for your service and please stay safe over there. We did get some rain overnight on Saturday and I think that contributed to our DQ on Sunday. Please be careful when the course is wet or muddy and SLOW DOWN. There were a couple of places where traction just wasn't that good. And as one unfortunate shooter found out, the plastic pipe that the boxes are made from is slippery when wet. This particular incident could have happened to any one of us. I would like to remind everyone that you can join or renew your USPSA membership at the match and shoot the match for free. That's like getting your annual membership for $25.00. Also as a member, you can get rid of that U classification and compete against other shooters in your class. Ask for an application at the next match. Our next match will be on Sunday, June 11th at Crooked Creek in Hartsgrove. Setup will be on Saturday, June 10th. We'll meet at 1:30 PM so we can get loaded up and be on the range at 2:00 PM. You can shoot one gun after setup is complete. Signups for Sunday start at 8:00 AM with final registration at 1:00 PM. Here is the Outdoor Schedule at Crooked Creek for 2006:
