July 9, 2006 NewsletterAnother fine turnout this month. Fortunately the clouds kept the temperatures down on Sunday. We had 61 shooters and 6 reshoots for a total of 67 guns. Thanks for everyone's patience while we got 58 shooters through on Sunday, even with the late start. Thanks very much to all who helped to set up and tear down. Don Helwick's advertising campaign is still working, we had 10 new shooters this month: Erik Quintillo, Holly Hoornstra, Robert Meszaros, John Gelsimino, Gary Perren, Nicholas Smith, Lori Hurd, Steve Bernadowicz, Bruce Williams and Kristine Williams. Also, welcome back Mick Lipscomb, who came back out after taking a few years off. I would like to remind everyone (especially our new shooters) that you can join or renew your USPSA membership at the match and shoot the match for free. That's like getting your annual membership for $25.00. Also as a member, you can get rid of that U classification and compete against other shooters in your class. Ask for an application at the next match. Back by popular demand, I ordered more J.R.'s Muff Sweats and they will be available at the registration desk for $13 per pair. They're $14.95 + S&H ($6.95) if you order them direct. Time for another opinion poll. What do you think about how we ran two different shooters in each bay and then swapped stages? Lines are open 24/7, drop me an e-mail to stats@practicalpistol.net and let me know what you think. Our next match will be on Sunday, August 13th at Crooked Creek in Hartsgrove. Setup will be on Saturday, August 12th. We'll meet at 1:30 PM so we can get loaded up and be on the range at 2:00 PM. You can shoot one gun after setup is complete. Signups for Sunday start at 8:00AM with final registration at 1:00 PM. We'll run our final Classifier this year, CM 06-04 Fluffy's Revenge 1.
